To obtain an ethylene polymer which can give a molding capable of being easily degraded with sun light or ultraviolet rays after it becomes useless by forming an ethylene polymer having a specified melt flow rate, a specified density, and a specified internal unsaturation content.
There is provided a polymer obtained by polymerizing ethylene or a mixture thereof with a 3-20C α-olefin and having a melt flow rate of 0.01-1,000 g/10 min (at 190°C under a load of 2.16 kg), a density of 0.85-0.97 g/cm3, a total content of internal unsaturations represented by formulae I to IV of at least 0.15/1,000C atoms, and a total content of trisubstituted internal unsaturations represented by formula III or IV of at least 0.15/1,000C atoms. In the formulae, R is a 1C or higher hydrocarbon group. This polymer can be produced by using a catalyst comprising a metallocene type transition metal compound and at least one member selected among an aluminumoxy compound, a Lewis acid, and an ionic compound which reacts with the metallocene compound to form a cation.
