PURPOSE: To provide the subject hot melt type adhesive containing a styrene- isoprene triblock copolymer having a specific styrene content, having ordinary temperature adhesivity and thermal adhesivity and exhibiting easy peelability not staining the surface of an adherend.

CONSTITUTION: The objective adhesive contains a styrene-isoprene triblock copolyer having a styrene content of 10-20wt.% [preferably having a mol.wt. of 103 to 105 and a melt flow rate of ≥12g/10min (at 200°C under a load of 5kg)]. The copolymer is preferably produced by successively reacting styrene, isoprene and styrene or binding the polyisoprene terminals of (polystyrene- polyisoprene) molecules with each other with a coupling agent, the molecules being produced by a polymerization reaction with a coupling agent. The adhesive is colorless and semi-transparent, but when a transparent or opaque adhesive is needed, low density polyethylene, etc., or ethylene-methyl acrylate copolymer, etc., are preferably compounded as a clarifying agent or as an opacifying agent, respectively.
