Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a hair cosmetic effective for imparting the hair with excellent feeling, suppressing the damage of hair and giving rinsed hair having little squeaking feeling by combining a specific polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether with a cationic surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: This hair cosmetic contains a polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether of formula I (R1 is H or methyl; R2 is 1-5C alkyl; (m) is 3-6) in combination with a cationic surfactant. The compound of formula I is especially preferably triethylene glycol monoethyl ether, triethylene glycol monopropyl ether, etc. The cationic surfactant is a quaternary ammonium salt of formula II (at least one of R3 to R6 is 8-28C alkyl or alkenyl and the others are benzyl or 1-5C alkyl; X- is halogen ion or organic anion). The hair cosmetic is effective not only for preventing the swelling damage of hair in shampooing but also for giving conditioned hair keeping excellent moistness, softness, smoothness, etc., even after drying.
