Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an echo canceling device which can have high convergence speed for a change in impulse responses at an echo path, by adaptively updating index weighting algorithm.
SOLUTION: In the echo-canceling device that cancels echo signals by subtracting pseudo echo signals, for which impulse responses of an echo path are estimated by an estimation algorithm, from the echo signals, there are provided a memory circuit which stores a step-size queue A weighted with index attenuation characteristics of impulse responses at the sound field in order to set up a step size at the estimation algorithm for each coefficient of impulse responses at the pseudo echo path, and a convergence determining circuit 11 which conducts determination on whether echo signals are cancelled adequately or not based on residual signals e(k), for which pseudo echo signals are subtracted from echo signals, and an attenuation coefficient computation circuit 12 which computes an attenuation coefficient from a pseudo-echo path coefficient h' determined by the estimation algorithm at an estimation circuit 6 according to the determination as to on whether echo signals have been cancelled properly and reflect the result to the step-size queue A, are equipped.
