PURPOSE: To obtain the subject therapeutic medicine containing SANOUSHASHINTOU (a galenical preparation) as an active ingredient, having a calcium phosphate precipitate formation-inhibiting action, and useful for the prevention, therapy, etc., of urinary calculus disease, nephrolithiasis, progressive myostitis ossificans, dental calculus, pancreatic elthiasis, cholecystitis, etc.
CONSTITUTION: SANOUSHASHINTOU comprising a galenical mixture containing Scutellariae radix, Rhei phizoma and Coptidis rhizoma is mixed with purified water, and heated at 100°C for 1hr. The obtained extract is treated with a centrifuge to separate residues. The supernatant solution is subjected to an aseptic clear filtration with a 0.3μm membrane filter, and the filtrate is subjected to an ultrafiltration for its concentration. The concentrated filtrate is mixed with an excipient, a binder, a disintegrating agent, a surfactant, a lustering agent, a flow-accelerating agent, a taste-modifying agent, a coloring agent, a perfume, etc., and subsequently prepared into tablets, capsules, pills, etc., to provide the objective ectopic calcinosis therapeutic medicine having an action on inhibiting the formation of calcium phosphate precipitates.
