Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current reduction gear, which eliminates a need for a space used to attach and install a control valve to and at the side face of a car-body frame, and whose controllability is made good.
SOLUTION: In an eddy current reduction gear, a fixed support ring 1a and a rotating support ring 1b in which a plurality of permanent magnets 3a, 3b are circumferentially installed in such a way that their polarities are directed to opposite directions are arranged in parallel, and a plurality of switch plates 2 which are insulated magnetically and made of a ferromagnetic substance are arranged so as to be faced with outer circumferential magnetic pole faces of the permanent magnets 3a, 3b as a group. A control valve 11 which is used to control the rotation of the rotating support ring 1b is arranged at the eddy current reduction gear. In this manner, a space which is used to attach and install the control valve 11 to and at a car-body frame is not required, the eddy-current reduction gear can be mounted easily on an automobile, the distance up to the rotation mechanism of the rotating support ring 1b from the control valve 11 is made short, and the controllability of the eddy current reduction gear is enhanced.
