Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current type deceleration apparatus capable of reducing an axial dimension, preventing adhesion of a foreign material to a gap between a braking member and a permanent magnet and improving braking force.SOLUTION: A deceleration apparatus includes: a magnet holding member 4 fixed on a rotary shaft 11 of a vehicle to hold a plurality of permanent magnets 5; a braking member 1 composed of a pair of disk parts 1a, 1b and a cylindrical part 1c so as to surround the magnet holding member 4 and rotatably supported on the rotary shaft 11; and a friction brake for resting the braking member 1 during braking. The magnets 5 are arranged so that the magnets are opposed to an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 1c and inner surfaces of the disk parts 1a, 1b, directions of magnetic poles are in a circumferential direction and magnetic poles of the magnets adjacent each other in the circumferential direction are different. The magnet holding member 4 includes partition members 20 extended to the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 1c between the adjacent magnets 5 in the circumferential direction and including a magnetic material, and an inner peripheral side end portion 20a of each partition member 20 is arranged on the outer peripheral side more than an inner peripheral side end portion 5a of the magnet 5.
