Abstract:
This turbulence detection device is configured to be provided with: a vortex parameter calculation unit (23) for calculating the radius of a vortex which is turbulence by using a first observation position where observation is performed to obtain a first Doppler velocity at which the Doppler velocity of the vortex peaks in a first wind direction when the vortex is scanned in a first scanning direction , a second observation position where observation has been performed to obtain a second Doppler velocity at which the Doppler velocity of the vortex peaks in a second wind direction opposite to the first wind direction when the vortex is scanned in the first scanning direction, a third observation position where observation has been performed to obtain a third Doppler velocity at which the Doppler velocity of the vortex peaks in the second wind direction when the vortex is scanned in a second scanning direction, and a fourth observation position where observation has been performed to obtain a fourth Doppler velocity at which the Doppler velocity of the vortex peaks in the first wind direction when the vortex is scanned in the second scanning direction; and an intensity calculation unit (24) for calculating the intensity of the vortex by using the radius calculated by the vortex parameter calculation unit (23), the first Doppler velocity, the second Doppler velocity, the third Doppler velocity, and the fourth Doppler velocity.
