Title:
EDGE DROP CONTROL METHOD FOR METALLIC STRIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3260664
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of the body elongation and ear of a metallic strip, thereby stabilizing operation by stopping feedback control and applying a specific fixed offset value to single trapezoidal work rolls, then executing shift movement when the joint part of the preceding metallic strip and succeeding metallic strip of cold rolling pass a rolling stand.
SOLUTION: The edge control applied to the stationary part thus far is stopped in a start position 6 at the rear end of the preceding material 1. The upper and lower roller roll shift is executed and held by applying the fixed offset value of 5 to 3 mm having the respective stop points of the upper and lower work roll shifts as start points. The edge drop control is reset in the end position 7 of the front end of the succeeding material 2. If the metallic strip widths of the preceding material 1 and the succeeding material 2 vary, the hold position at the front end of the succeeding material 2 of the upper and lower work rolls is corrected by half the difference in the width between the preceding material 1 and the succeeding material 2, by which the edge drop control is effectively exhibited.
