Title:
EDGER MILL FOR ROLLING H-SHAPE STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2626330
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make free adjustment of one-side width of flange possible without offset of the web center and to make the entire width of flange constant by changing a distance to an intermediate roller from the line between the axial centers of a horizontal roller pair and edger roll pair with which the web is constrained.
CONSTITUTION: A edger mill 50 is provided with a set of roll pair 52, 52 with which the body of the edger mill is constituted, the horizontal roller pair 54, 54 which is arranged on the line between the axial centers of those roll pairs and with which the upper and lower surfaces of web are constrained and at least a pair of intermediate rollers 56, 56 which are arranged between the both and so that reaction force that is applied to the horizontal roller pair 54, 54 during rolling is supported with a roll pair. Then, by shifting the intermediate roller 56, 56 in the horizontal direction with a mechanism that a motor is used, the distance between the axial centers of the edger rolls and the horizontal rollers is adjusted. Consequently, offset of the web center can be remarkably reduced and this mill can be applied to the manufacture of various sizes of H-shape steels.
