Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elastic nonwoven fabric suitable as a substrate for an artificial leather rich in air permeability and lightweight feeling by carrying out the treatment for removing the sea from a nonwoven fabric comprising specific eccentric and core- sheath type conjugated fibers and performing the thermal fusing treatment of constituent fiber crossover points thereof.
SOLUTION: This nonwoven fabric is constituted of eccentric and core-sheath type conjugated fibers comprising a blend composition having a core part composed of a polyester elastomer and a sheath part composed of a polyester and/or a polyamide, having a higher melting point than that of the polyester elastomer and arranged as an island component and an olefinic polymer arranged as the sea component. The polyester elastomer is preferably a polyether polyester block copolymer elastomer. The nonwoven fabric is obtained by spinning the eccentric and core-sheath type conjugated fibers, drawing and opening the resultant spun filament group with an ejector, depositing the opened filaments on a moving conveyor, providing a web, then carrying out the shrinking treatment in a heated atmosphere, further performing the entangling treatment with a needle locker, forming an elastic nonwoven fabric and subsequently eluting and removing the polyethylene in the conjugated fibers in a toluene bath, carrying out the thermal compressing bonding treatment and affording a substrate having a leathery touch feeling.
