PURPOSE: To obtain an elastic surface wave device incorporating a function to convert the serial input of pulse into the parallel output and vice versa, by noticing that the pulse trains can be obtained with a certain difference of time by converting the elastic surface wave into the voltage with another electrode formed on the piezoelectric substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of electrodes 2 plus several pairs of electrodes 3 are formed on the piezoelectric substrate 1 and with some spaces secured in the propagating direction of the elastic surface wave. The electrode 3 has the electrode fingers of the same structure and then dispased equidistantly on the transmission line of the elastic surface wave, and at the same time the corresponding terminals 5-1∼5-n are connected to the electrodes 3. In addition, either a pair of electrodes 2 or several pairs of electrodes 3 are used for the input electrodes and the other used for the output electrodes, respectively. Thus a conversion is carried out between serial input and parallel output as well as parallel input and serial output, resepectively.
