PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elastomer composition and a crosslinked material therefrom excellent in mechanical strength, weather resistance, heat resistance and oil resistance by improving compatibility of a polypropylene with a chlorinated polyethylene.
SOLUTION: This elastomer composition comprises (a) 10-75 pts.wt. of a polypropylene, (b) 90-25 pts.wt. of a chlorinated polyethylene, (c) 5-30 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the total of the polymers (a) and (b), of a hydrogenated polymers SEBS obtained by substantially saturating a butadiene block portion of a styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer by hydrogenation and/or (d) 5-50 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the total of the polymers (a) and (b), of an esterified rosin-based resin. An elastomer crosslinked material is obtained by crosslinking the composition. As the hydrogenated polymer SEBS, the one whose butadiene block portion is saturate to the extent of 97 mole % or more is preferable.
