Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition comprising a rigid ionomer resin, a polyamide elastomer and a polycarboxylic acid compound, improved in the compatibility of the resin with the elastomer, and capable of exhibiting excellent repulsiveness and durability.
SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) 10-90 pts.wt. of a rigid ionmer resin (preferably having a Shore D hardness of ≥55, such as the metal salt of ethylene-acrylic or methacrylic acid copolymer), (B) 90-10 pts.wt. of a polyamide elastomer (preferably having a Shore D hardness of ≤50), and (C) 0.2-10 pts.wt. of a polycarboxylic acid compound (preferably adipic acid, sebacic acid, polyacrylic acid, etc.). The composition can thereby be used as a covering material for golf balls, a core material for the golf balls, and for other sports goods, automotive parts, etc.
