To improve the nonpermeability to a transported liq. and moisture, flexibility, heat resistance, and resistance to external chemicals of a liq. transport hose by compounding an isobutylene-p-methylstyrene-p-bromomethylstyrene terpolymer with an acid absorber and vulcanizing the terpolymer.
100 pts.wt. isobutylene-p-methylstyrene-p-bromomethylstyrene terpolymer is compounded with 1-4 pts.wt. acid absorber represented by the formula: Mg1-xAlx(OH)2(CO3)x/2.mH2O (wherein x is 0-0.5) and vulcanized to give an elastomer. A liq. transport hose is obtd. by forming a 0.2-0.8mm-thick layer 14 from the above-decribed elastomer on the outer surface of a 0.1-0.3mm- thick thermoplastic material layer 16 constituting the inner wall of the hose, covering the outer surface of the elastomer layer 14 with a fibrous reinforcement layer 12, and providing thereon an external protective cover 10 comprising a 1-3mm-thick elastomer layer.
