PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of mold and a smell owing to a moisture content absorbed by an electric carpet during storage of it in a closet while the electric carpet is not used during a season between a spring and an autumn.
CONSTITUTION: An electric carpet comprises a heater wire 11, a heat insulating material 12 located on the under surface of the heater wire 11, a surface-form heat generating substance 14 formed of a surface cloth material 13 on an under surface, a temperature controller part 15 to control the temperature of the planar form heat generating substance 14, and a switch 17 setting temperature to a maximum value or increasing temperature to a maximum value with the aid of the temperature controller part 15. Even when, after the temperature of the surface-form heat generating substance 14 is increased to a maximum value for a specified time and through energization, a moisture content absorbed in the surface-form heat generating substance 14 is sufficiently eliminated, the planar form heat generating substance is contained in a containing bag 20. Even when it is contained during an off-season, mold and a smell are prevented from production at the surface-form heat generating substance 14.
