Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize one-to-one correspondence between registers and color signals, and prevent color mixing and position deviation, by providing a sensor row where sensors for each color are arranged in a row and each register corresponding with each color sensor, and arranging the sensor row parallel to each register. CONSTITUTION:A first register 1 and a second register 2 for transferring electric charge in H-direction are arranged parallel with each other on a semiconductor substrate. The first register 1 has transfer electrodes 5, 3, 6, 7, and the second register 2 has transfer electrode 8, 4, 9, 10. Each of the transfer electrodes 3-10 is formed of, e.g. a three layer polysilicon. In this CCD, by driving the adjacent transfer electrodes with different pulses, not only V-direction transfer between the registers but also H-direction transfer in a register are enabled. Transfer between the registers is performed by adjacent electrodes 3, 4 to each other, so that a transfer gate is unnecessitated, problems of gate resistance and the like are dissolved, and transfer efficiency also is improved.
