To prevent reactance from being operated when a higher harmonic wave current component is small in simple configuration concerning a control circuit using the reactance for removing the higher harmonic wave current component generated by the phase control of an electric cleaner.
Concerning the control circuit for electric cleaner having reactances 7 and 8 for decreasing the higher harmonic wave current component, changeover switches 5 and 6 to be interlocked are provided at the operating part position of a variable resistor 9 composing one part of a phase control circuit 11 for varying input to a motor 1 and at the time of maximum input, or when a third higher harmonic wave current is 2A or lower at which the higher harmonic wave current component does not affect other equipment, the changeover switches 5 and 6 are closed so that the reactances 7 and 8 are not operated.
