To provide an electric cleaner which improves the maintenance property of a dust collecting part while suppressing the reduction of a suction power with time.
In a sucking state, the reduction of a sucking air volume is suppressed by the air sucked from a hose connection part 251 being branched to a forward path even if the dust volume collected by a dust collecting unit 9 on a main air passage increases. When switched to a dust moving state by a switching means, the dust collected in a pleat filter 126 is moved to the dust collecting unit 9, and the increase of an air passage resistance in the forward path side by clogging of the pleat filter 126 can be suppressed; thereby, the reduction of the sucking power with time is suppressed. By providing an upper air passage and a lower air passage which are respective parts of the forward path and backward path in a lid body 3, the dust collecting unit 9 is exposed in the state the lid body 3 is opened, and thus the maintenance property of the dust collecting unit 9 is improved.
