To provide an electric connector for a card firmly connecting and protecting an electronic card.
The electric connector for a card comprises an insulation main body, a conductive terminal housed in the insulation main body, and a shield housing. A main body part locking to the insulation main body is arranged at the shield housing. A part of the shield housing having the main body part is formed at an extending part by protruding from an end part of the insulation main body. The electronic card can be completely housed in the electric connector through the extending part formed at the shield housing. Accordingly, such a defect due to the conventional technology that the electronic card is damaged as a part of the electronic card is exposed to the outside of the electric connector, or that a terminal of the electric connector for the card is pressed and deformed due to the slanting of the electronic card, is avoided.
