Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a system with a dielectric housing in which plural terminal accepting recesses are formed. CONSTITUTION: Plural female terminals 16 are adapted to be inserted into recesses. Each terminal has a vertical shaft 18 and a mating part 30 adapted to mate a male terminal to be inserted in the recess. At least one lock arm 40 is extended normally in parallel to the vertical shaft of the terminal at a small inclination, to be converged at the insertion end, to hold the terminal in the recess in a housing. The lock arm has both ends, facing each other, connected to the mating parts with flexible tabs 44, 46. In each terminal accepting recess 14, a sectional area is provided, where the lock arm of the terminal crossing the vertical shaft of the terminal is adapted to be engaged therewith and deflected while the terminal is inserted in the recess. A shoulder is provided behind the limited sectional area, behind which the lock arm is snapped when completely inserted in the recess in the terminal, not to prevent the removal of the terminal from the recess.
