PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector that has good visibility in confirming an inserted state of a signal transmitting member.SOLUTION: An electric connector 1, one example of electric connectors according to the invention, comprises an insulative housing 2, a conductive contact 3, and an actuator 4. The electric connector 1 is inserted with a terminal part of a signal transmitting member 5 such as an FPC or an FFC, to electrically connect a wiring substrate of electronic equipment or the like to the signal transmitting member 5. The housing 2 has an upper wall part 6, a lower wall part 7, and an upper/lower connection part 8 connecting the upper wall part 6 to the lower wall part 7. Between the upper wall part 6 and the lower wall part 7 of the housing 2 is formed a clearance, and a front side in an inserting direction of a medium of the clearance acts as an insertion port 10 into which is inserted the terminal part 9 of the signal transmitting member 5. At both end parts in a longitudinal direction of the connector of the upper wall part 6 and the lower wall part 7 of the housing 2 are formed opening parts 11, which allows a state of the signal transmitting member 5 inserted into the insertion port 10 to be visually recognized from above and from the side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
