To provide a jigsaw which is increased in blade holding force by changing a blade pressing location of a rotary member and prevents the blade from disengaging therefrom.
A blade holding mechanism 8 is composed of a blade receiving surface 11, the rotary member 13, and a pressing means 14. The blade receiving surface 11 includes a groove portion 11a which is almost the same in shape as a blade 7 mounting portion 7a inclusive of a projection 7b. The rotary member 13 has a pivot extending almost in the same direction as a longitudinal direction of a plunger 1, and comprises one end 13a having a blade pressing portion 13c that is formed so as to press a blade side surface in a direction that separates from the pivot of the rotary member 13, away from a blade center fitted in the groove portion, at a location opposed to the groove portion 11a. The pressing means 14 presses the one end 13a of the rotary member 13 toward the groove portion 11a of the plunger 1.
