Title:
ELECTRIC ENERGY STORAGE FOR SUPERCONDUCTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01196805
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To store a large quantity of electrical energy by using a material having a high magnetic permeability except for the induction in a superconducting material by positioning a second superconducting coil which is mutually induced by a first superconducting coil in which an electric current is induced near the first coil. CONSTITUTION: An electric current I is induced in a superconducting coil S and the magnetic induction ϕ generated by the current I induces an electric current I' in a second superconducting coil S'. The current I' generates an induced magnetic flux ϕ' in the opposite direction of the magnetic flux ϕ. Since the obtained induction substantially becomes zero and can be maintained lower than the critical induction, a material M having a high magnetic permeability used for increasing the storing quantity of electrical energy can be positioned near the coils S and S'.
