Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric field focusing type electron source array capable of preventing an electron emission source from being broken down.SOLUTION: In an electric field focusing type electron source array that is controlled by X-Y matrix wiring, a focusing electrode is provided independently for each pixel and only to a focusing electrode of a pixel that is selected by the matrix wiring, a determined voltage (calculated from a predetermined voltage dividing ratio of a voltage of an emitter electrode and a voltage of a gate electrode) for focusing radiation electrons is applied and to the other focusing electrodes, the same voltage as an electrode (gate electrode) for extracting electrons from a cathode is applied. A probability of occurrence of discharge breakdown caused by a potential difference between the focusing electrode and the gate electrode is reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
