Abstract:
PURPOSE: To amplify signal power transmitted from a satellite and efficiently cool a traveling-wave tube loaded onto the satellite. CONSTITUTION: A signal relay amplification system 11 for a satellite 10 comprises a receiver part 12, a signal amplifier part 13, and a transmitter part 15. The amplifier part 13 involves a radiator collector attached to traveling-wave tubes(TWT) 50a and 50b for transferring the heat generated by the TWTs to the space. The two TWTs are fed by a single electric power circuit(EPC) 52 by way of a channel 40a in the amplifier part. The TWTs and the EPC are directly attached to a radiation panel for their efficient radiation cooling. That arrangement thus reduces the size of the satellite.
