To provide an electric power steering device which gives an assist force according to steering torque without relying on electronic control.
Each of feeding brushes 19a, 19b slidably contacts with each segment 31 supported by a cylindrical support member 32 provided turnably in the circumferential direction. A gear portion 40 extended along the circumferential direction is provided on the outer circumference of the support member 32 and the gear portion 40 engages with a gear 41. Furthermore, the gear 41 is connected to an amplifier 50, which amplifies the torsion of a torsion bar provided in a portion of a steering shaft. By rotating the supporting member 32 interlocking with the torsion, each of the feeding brushes 19a, 19b makes its circumferential position of contacting with each segment 31 variable. Then, the slidably contacting position of each of the feeding brushes 19a, 19b is set up so as not to generate motor torque when the torsion bar is not twisted.
