Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To release clutch mechanisms by a small releasing force securely, by setting the circular arc length of the position control member of one set clutch mechanism larger than other position control members, and setting a steering torque in order to start an electric motor to generate an auxiliary torque, larger than the torque to convert all the plural sets of clutch mechanisms to the engaging condition.
SOLUTION: While an output member 34 is installed relatively to an input member 32b movable in the diameter direction, the position control members 64... of plural sets of clutch mechanisms 40... are provided on the same circle separating each other, and furthermore, the circular arc length of the position control member 64A of one set clutch mechanism is set larger than the other position control members 64, while a steering torque in order to start an electric motor to generate an auxiliary torque is set larger than the torque to convert all the plural sets of clutch mechanisms in the engaging condition. In the clutch engaging operation time, the one set clutch is engaged after the other clutch mechanisms are engaged. But since the electric motor is not started, no auxiliary torque is operated to the output member, the torque toward the output member is small, the output member is not almost moved in the diameter direction, and the wedging angle in order to engage the engaging member is not almost changed.
