Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance returning or convergence, and sitting of a steering wheel in EPS, by achieving low friction, low inertial, low loss torque and low cogging of a brushless motor.SOLUTION: An electric power steering system 1 uses a brushless motor 3 as a driving source. The brushless motor 3 has a stator 13 around which a stator coil 17 is wound in distributed winding, and a rotor 14 arranged rotatably in the stator 13. Four sets of slit group 31, consisting of arcuate slits 31a-31c, are formed in the rotor 14. Rotor magnets 32, consisting of bond magnets, are formed to fill the slits 31a-31c. The rotor magnets 32 are magnetized anisotropically. The rotor 14 is rotated with magnet torque by the rotor magnets 32, and reluctance torque based on the inductance difference of a magnetic path, and supplies a steering auxiliary force.
