This electric pressure sintering apparatus 1 having a pair of sintering shafts for performing the electric pressure sintering of a sintering die 80 with the powder m to be sintered in the vertical direction and a vacuum chamber 2 for sealing the sintering die 80 comprises a spare chamber 202 provided adjacent to the vacuum chamber 2, an evacuating means for evacuating the spare chamber 202, an inner gate valve 205 provided in an opening/closing manner between the spare chamber 202 and the vacuum chamber 2, a between- chamber moving means for taking in/taking out the sintering die 80 between the vacuum chamber 2 and the spare chamber 202 when the inner gate valve 205 is opened, an outer gate valve 208 provided in an opening/closing manner at an appropriate location of the spare chamber 202, and a carrying-in/carrying- out means 219 for carrying the sintering die 80 in/out of the spare chamber 202 when the outer gate valve 208 is opened.
