To stop an electric rolling stock by operating only an electric brake, until the speed of the rolling stock becomes zero.
In electric rolling stock control equipment, which vector-controls an induction motor 1 driving a rolling stock by using a power converter 2, deceleration and running resistance are calculated, when the rolling stock reaches a previously set speed V0, a stopping time untill the rolling stock stops at a stopping position of a prescribed distance separated from the position where the speed reaches the set speed V0 is obtained, and the deceleration for stopping the rolling stock at the stopping position by the stopping time is calculated. A torque pattern generator 5 is installed, which operates the stopping torque pattern for realizing the deceleration for stopping the rolling stock at the stopping position and gives the stopping torque pattern to the power converter 2.
