Title:
ELECTRIC WATER HEATER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04176413
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease accidents like a burn due to flowing out of hot water, by providing fine holes in a steam path to conduct the steam inside a vessel to the outside and further, providing an auxiliary valve closing the fine holes.

CONSTITUTION: When a specified volume of water is charged in a vessel 2 and electric currents are supplied to the body 1, it is started to heat. In this time, the generated steam passes through fine holes 10 of the steam generator 7 and it is discharged from a steam discharging hole 12 to the outside. When the body 1 is tumbled by mistake, a cutoff valve 18 closes a water conducting hole 19 to prevent the hot water from flowing out from a water feed opening 17. On the other hand, a valve 13 closes the fine hole 10 to prevent hot water from flowing out from a steam outlet 12. And as the fine hole 11 is small in its diameter, the hot water from the hole flows only a little. And further, a spherical stainless steel auxiliary valve 23 is arranged in the second steam chamber 9 as shown by a dotted line to close the fine hole 11 on tumbling of the body 1. This auxiliary valve 23 is made to securely open the fine hole 11 when the body 1 is recovered from the tumbled state.
