Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diminish peaks in power discharged from a battery, and also to reduce leak current from the battery.
SOLUTION: Computer equipment connects with an intelligent battery 52 to supply power from the intelligent battery 52 to a system, in which the intelligent battery 52 comprises a battery cell 61 (battery cell) for supplying power by discharging after charged, a high-capacitance capacitor 73 connected to a power line for supplying power from the cell 61 to the system in parallel with the cell 61, a switch 74 (SW1) for turning on/off the connection of the high-capacitance capacitor 73 to the power line, and a CPU 62 for controlling the switch 74 (SW1). The CPU 62 controls on/off of the switch 74 (SW1), based on a connection state with the system and/or a power consumption state of the system.
