Abstract:

To provide an electrifying member that prevents a leak of an electrification current, which is caused by a defect of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, consequently obtains a stable, satisfactory, and uniform electrification characteristic and output image quality, and to provide an electrophotographic device having the electrifying member.

In the electrifying member having at least a support member and a conductive covering member, the conductive covering member contains acid carbon black optionally with conductive carbon black. In the acid carbon black, DBP oil absorption is 50 cm3/100 g or below, pH is 4 or below, and a particle diameter is 60 nm or below. In the conductive carbon black, DBP absorption is 300 to 500 cm3/100 g. The electrophotographic device has the electrifying member.
