Title:
ELECTRO-OPTICAL DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREFOR, AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3741199
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that pixels cannot sufficiently be charged during a selected period due to parasitic resistance, parasitic capacitance or the like in an electro-optical device when selected pixels and a data line drive circuit become distant from each other.
SOLUTION: This is an electro-optical device wherein a voltage is supplied to each pixel M composed of an electro-optical material formed corresponding to a crossing area of one of the lines Y and one of the data lines X, and the pixel is charged up to a prescribed voltage within the prescribed charge period, and the electro-optical device is provide with a line drive circuit 20 for supplying a scanning signal to one of the lines Y, and a data line drive circuit 22 for supplying a data signal to each of the data lines X. The device further comprises specific lines Y to be selected by the line drive circuit 20, and a transformer circuit 24 for varying the data signal voltage supplied by the data line drive circuit 22 in a certain period of the prescribed charge period based on the distance of the data line drive circuit 22 supplying the data signal voltage.
