Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the worsening of an initial performance of an electrochemical reaction cell stack and to suppress the degradation of a performance accompanying an operation.SOLUTION: An electrochemical reaction cell stack comprises: a plurality of electrochemical reaction single cells each including an electrolyte layer including a solid oxide, and an air electrode and a fuel electrode which are opposed to each other with the electrolyte layer located therebetween. The fuel electrode has a functional layer including Ni, and an oxide ion-conducting ceramic. In the electrochemical reaction cell stack, a first fuel chamber facing the fuel electrode of the first electrochemical reaction single cell, a second fuel chamber facing the fuel electrode of the second electrochemical reaction single cell, and a gas passage in communication with the first and second fuel chambers are formed. In the functional layer of the fuel electrode of the second electrochemical reaction single cell, a Ni content Cf2 (wt.%) is lower than a Ni content Cf1 (wt.%) in the functional layer of the fuel electrode of the first electrochemical reaction single cell.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
