Title:
ELECTROCHROMIC DISPLAY BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5612621
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a display body with superior responding properties by forming a pair of electrodes using electrochromic substances which color at minus potential and plus potential, respectively.

CONSTITUTION: A thin film of a transition metal oxide such as WO3 as an electrochromic substance which colors at minus potential is formed on display portion 3 alone of transparent electrically conductive Nesa film 2 on transparent glass 1 by vapor deposition. On the other hand, sputtered gold films 4, 4' are formed on glazed alumina substrate 7, and an Ir thin film is vacuum deposited and converted by anodic oxidation into transparent electrode 6 which colors at plus potential. Both the electrodes are assembled into a cell, and after injecting electrolyte 5 injection holes 9 are stopped up.
