Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode connecting device for screwing the new electrode, which can always securely connect a new electrode at the time of the consumption of a former electrode due to the operation in an electric fusing furnace such as an arc furnace. SOLUTION: In an electrode connecting device for screwing a connecting screw 5 of the lower end of a new electrode 4 into a screw hole 3 provided in the upper end of a former electrode 2, which is vertically held by an electrode holding device 1, a female screw body 9 is provided inside of a suspended frame 6 suspended from a crane, and a screw shaft 11 is screwed with this female screw body 9. A new electrode holder 12 is hanged from the lower end of the screw shaft 11 through a rotation transmitting joint 60, which transmits the rotation and which can be telescoped, and the new electrode 4 is held in the new electrode holder 12, and the new electrode holder 12 is screwed downward with a pitch of the screw shaft 11.
