Title:
ELECTRODE FOR FUEL CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005100665
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To restrain degradation of efficiency of a fuel cell caused by projection of fibers included in an electrode, in an electrode for a fuel cell jointed to an MEA having an ion-exchange membrane and a catalyst layer.

This electrode for the fuel cell is jointed to an MEA having an ion-exchange membrane and a catalyst layer. The electrode is provided with: a first gas diffusion layer having a first joint surface to be jointed to the MEA, and containing first fibers in its inside; and a second gas diffusion layer having a second joint surface jointed to the first gas diffusion layer, and containing second fibers in its inside. The first gas diffusion layer is so structured that the number per unit area of the first fibers wherein each angle thereof with respect to the first joint surface in the first joint surface is larger than a predetermined value is set smaller than the number per unit area of the second fibers wherein each angle thereof with respect to the second joint surface in the second joint surface is larger than a predetermined value.
