Title:
ELECTRODE HOLDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03187161
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow an application as an electrode holder within an electrochemical battery by forming the space where corrugated principal planes made of a set of solid electrolytic material sheets extend in parallel with each other and along a lengthwise direction. CONSTITUTION: Sheets or panels 14 and 16 have a sinusoidal wave form in a lengthwise direction. Sheet corrugations 22 are kept in parallel with each other and the corrugations 22 of the panel 14 are dephased approximately 180 degrees from the corrugations 22 of the panel 16 at the center part 18 of an envelope. As a result, the panels 14 and 16 come to have a series of somewhat tubular spaces arrayed therein. Also, the corrugations 22 of the panel 14 are offset toward one lateral side in each transition zone 28 off the center part 18, and the corrugations 22 of the panel 16 are offset in a lateral opposite direction. The panels 14 and 16 come near each other at the lengthwise outer end of the transition zone until faced to each other and coming in contact with each other at the lengthwise outer end 34 of the transition zone, thereby being sealed to each other at the end 34. Thus, a laterally compressed envelope made of a solid electrolytic material can be provided for use as an electrode holder in an electrochemical battery.
