Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stabilize the property of a paste and enhance the charging/ discharging characteristics with a large current at the time of being incorporated in a secondary battery by specifying the amount of carbon black and the amount of carboxyl-methyl-cellulose contained in the paste relative to hydrogen absorption alloy.

CONSTITUTION: The amount of carboxyl-methyl-cellulose contained in a paste consisting of a powder of hydrogen absorption alloy, polyacrylate as a binding agent, polytetrafluoroethylene, carboxyl-methyl-cellulose, and carbonic powder as an electroconductive material shall be 0.1-2 parts by wt. relative to 100 parts by wt. hydrogen absorption alloy, while the amount of carbon black shall be 0.1-4 parts by wt. relative to 100 parts by wt. hydrogen absorption alloy. This provides characteristic with stable pasted property and enhances the charging/discharging characteristics with a large current at the time being incorporated in a secondary battery.
