To prevent an electrode from deforming even in the case of performing an electric resistance welding under high tension and pressure by manufacturing an electrode material with Mo base alloy composed of a specified amount of W, Re, Ru and the balance Mo with inevitable impurities.
A reason why the specified amount of constituent composition for an electric resistance welding is limited is based on that a ternary Mo base alloy having an excellent high temperature characteristic and workability is obtained by containing, by wt., 10-25% W, 5-30% Re and the balance Mo. Further, conductivity is improved and contact resistance is reduced by adding, by wt., 1-10% Ru to the ternary Mo base alloy. Also, conductivity and high temperature oxidation resistance are improved by further adding, by wt., 1-10% Ir to the ternary Mo base alloy. Since the electrode material for the electric resistance welding like this is usable for a long time, the resistance welding is efficiently performed.
