PURPOSE: To inexpensively and easily offer an electrode body in which only the tip part requiring electrode properties is highly densified and to offer a manufacturing method easily manufacturable an electrode material not requiring a large-scale manufacturing apparatus and having high capacity.

CONSTITUTION: An electrode material 6 is constituted in such a manner that its density is partially or obliquely changed, and a part 6a having high density is used as an electrode. Furthermore, in its manufacturing method, by swiftly melting and solidifying only the upper part of a sintered body using a powdery raw material and in which oxides are uniformly dispersed, a sintered body electrode 6 in which oxides are uniformly dispersed only into a part requiring properties as an electrode whose state is formed into one of high density and in which a part 6b required for embedding has low density as it is can be manufactured.
