Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease the reflectivity of external light to a half and to enable the efficient and continuous film formation of a transparent electrode and metal chromium by forming the transparent electrode which is specified in the film thickness first, then forming the thin film of the metal chromium. CONSTITUTION:At least color filters 14, the transparent electrode 12 having 300-900Angstrom film thickness and the thin film 13 of the metal chromium are formed in this order on a transparent substrate 11. The transparent electrode 12 and the thin film 13 of the metal chromium are continuously formed by a sputtering method and the thin film 13 of the metal chromium is subjected to patterning of a resist by an ordinary photolithography technique and etching by a cerium nitrate soln. in this case. The transparent electrode and the thin film of the metal chromium are thereby continuously formed. The reflectivity of external light from the glass surface is thus decreased by about half and the display grade of a liquid crystal display is improved.
