Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance the welding strength of tabs of electrode plates and a strap to each other by installing a plurality of electrode plates, each having a tab, belonging to the same polarity group in a single row arrangement, and moving a gas burner over the tabs in the direction in which the plates are arranged and also in the direction perpendicular thereto.
CONSTITUTION: Positive electrode tabs and negative electrode tabs 5 of a group of electrode plates 1 are each arranged in a row, and over each group of tabs, a comb-shaped strap forming jig 6 is fitted. The first and the second motor 11, 12 are rotated according to the specified program, and a welding gas burner 9 is moved in the X-axis direction in which the tabs of the electrode plates having the same polarility are arranged and also in the Y-axis direction perpendicularly intersecting thereto, and thereby the upper part of each tab is welded to a lead alloy piece 7 for strap formation. Further, the motors 11, 12 are rotated simultaneously to put the burner 9 in reciprocations so as to draw a figure '8' in combination of the X- and Y-axis motions, and the upper part of the tabs is melted together with the alloy piece 7 and agitated sufficiently, and is welded fast to the strap.
