Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a plug from being tightly screwed to the screw hole of an electrode and facilitate its removal in an electrode replenishing device for replenishing a new electrode by screwing it onto the upper end of the electrode of an arc furnace. CONSTITUTION: A torque actuator 28 is provided in the center of a device body 11 with its rotating shaft 38 down, and an electrode screwing plug 30 is fixed to the lower end of the rotating shaft 38 through a flange part 31. A lock ring 33 is supported by the base part outer circumference of the plug 30 in such a manner as to be vertically movable and rotatable, and cam surfaces 36 for pressing the lock ring 33 onto the upper end surface of an electrode by the relative rotation of the flange part 31 and the lock ring 33 when the plug 30 is screwed to the electrode by the rotation are formed on the opposed surfaces of the lock ring 33 and the flange part 31.
