Title:
ELECTRODE RETAINING DEVICE IN MELTING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3510079
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain the posture of an already installed electrode properly and engage a screw threaded part correctly, upon connecting a new electrode to the base end of a device.
SOLUTION: An electrode retaining device in a melting furnace is provided with a correcting clamp device 8, arranged between the gripping device of an electrode sending device constituted of a fixed receiving member and a movable pushing member, capable of being approached to and separated from the fixed receiving member, and an electrode inserting hole as well as the gripping device, formed on the ceiling wall of the furnace, and a pair of clamp arms 36, approximating and separating a pair of clamp members, arranged on the correcting clamp device 8 in a direction orthogonal to the gripping direction of the gripping device. In this case, a clamp cylinder 39 is connected to the clamp member side of the clamp arm 36 and a tension coil spring 40, for adjusting position, is connected to the other end of the clamp arm 36 to correct an electrode 3 to the proper position by the resilient force of the tension coil spring 40.
