Title:
ELECTRODE SUPPORTER FOR ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3678379
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the total weight of the electrode supporter by improving the cooling mechanism of the electrode support beam in the electrode supporter of an electric arc furnace.
SOLUTION: A number of small coolers 20a to 20c for separately generating cool wind and hot wind by supply of high pressure air are enclosed in an electrode support beam 41 and effective cooling is carried out by injecting cool wind to the wall part of the electrode support beam 41. The high pressure air is supplied to each of coolers 20a to 20c through a tube 42 from a port 44 and cool wind is used for the abovementioned cooling and hot wind is exhausted outward through tubes 43a, 43b. In comparison with the conventional cooling method for filling and flowing water, the weight of the device can be decreased extremely and all problems caused by using water as cooling medium may be eliminated.
