Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of electric erosion, even when metallic materials substantially different in ionization tendency are used, by keeping the cooling water passage of an electrode support arm and the cooling water passage of an electrode holder independent of each other.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode support arm 1 is internally provided with a division 14 for separating a cooling water inflow passage 12 from a cooling water outflow passage 13. The rear end of the division 14 is jointed to a closing wall 4, while the front end is divided into two sections so as to keep the outside of a hydraulic hose 9 and an actuator housing chamber 8 belonging to the side of the passage 12 and the side of the passage 13 respectively. In addition, the division 14 is faced to an inward flange 7 via the prescribed gap on the upper and lower sides of the chamber 8, and communication holes 15 and 15 are formed between both sides, thereby communicating the passages 12 and 13 to each other. In this case, a consumable corrosion material 18 made of a metal having higher ionization tendency than aluminum is inserted in and fixed to the passages 12 and 13, and aluminum is thereby protected against corrosion due to cooling water.
