Abstract:

To obtain an electrode for welding an aluminum alloy material excellent in the joined strength by forming good nugget and excellent in the welding efficiency by drastically improving the number of successive spotting joints at more than in the case of using the conventional chromium-copper, and a welding method using this.

At the time of mutually joining laminated two pieces of the aluminum alloy materials by resistance spot-welding, the electrodes formed with the confronted pair of pure coppers containing ≥99.9wt.% copper, are used. Two pieces of aluminum alloy materials are held with the electrodes under pressurizing condition and resistance exothermically melted by conducting the current between both electrodes and mutually joined.
